Say so long to the eclectic beers of Uncommon Brewers of Santa Cruz. After a series of problems with his huge Oasis restaurant and taproom, that closed last November, owner Alec Stefansky is selling to Humble Sea Brewing Co. Nick Pavlina—head of brewing operations for Humble Sea—confirms the acquisition will not include the brand, only Uncommon’s brewing facilities on Potrero Street. As EMB readers will recall, Humble Sea is in the midst of a bold expansion that includes re-opening The Cremer House in Felton as Humble Sea Mountain Tavern later this summer.

The popular Swift Street proprietors opened their second establishment last week in Pacifica, remain on pace to open a third called the Humble Sea Tavern in Felton by late summer, and will be better positioned to meet the growing demand for their products with the addition of Uncommon’s former facility along River Street.
“The demand is reasonably higher than we can produce,” said Humble Sea’s marketing director, Lee DeGraw. “We pretty much have maxed out our current system.
