At Event Santa Cruz, we’ve been committed to celebrating and supporting Santa Cruz’s vibrant music scene from day one. From our Midtown Fridays summer music series and Block Parties to our “And Friends” concert series featuring artists like Jessie Daniel, Taylor Rae, and Mak Nova, we’ve always worked to bring the community together through music. We even produced the music video “Santa Cruz” for James Durbin and have hosted countless local musicians on our radio show. We supported the Santa Cruz fire relief with the music campaign Love You Madley and currently bringing live music to the wharf at Wharf Wednesdays.
This year, we’re taking it even further.
Kicking Off 2025 with New Music January
To start the year, we launched New Music January as a way to spotlight the incredible talent right here in Santa Cruz. The results have been nothing short of amazing—25 local music videos promoted on our YouTube channel have already garnered 1.4 million views in just one month!
But we’re just getting started.
Be Part of the Momentum
As we head into March, we’re looking to keep the energy alive by showcasing even more local artists. If you’re a Santa Cruz musician with a music video—whether it’s brand new or a hidden gem you want to reintroduce—we’d love to feature it across our platforms, including:
- YouTube
- Our website
- Our weekly newsletter, which reaches 10,000 locals
Our goal is to get more people listening to your music while helping you grow your fan base. Think of us as the MTV of Santa Cruz Music—but the ’80s version, back when music videos were front and center!
How to Submit Your Music Video
Submitting your video is easy:
- Send us the full video file (no clips, please) through a service like Google Drive, WeTransfer, or Dropbox.
- Email it to: mswinnerton@gmail.com
For the video description, please include:
- Your artist name
- The song name
- Any credits (e.g., video director, song producer, musicians, etc.)
- Your social links or website
More Ways to Collaborate
In addition to promoting music videos, we’re here to support your big releases. Let’s connect for:
- Video interviews
- Radio promos
- Special projects
And yes, we do all of this at no charge.
Looking Ahead
We have so many exciting concerts, shows, and projects planned for 2025, and we’d love for you to be a part of them. Together, we can make this year a huge success for Santa Cruz music.
Feel free to share this post with other local musicians who might want to join in. Let’s make some noise, Santa Cruz!
