Santa Cruz’s Original Brewery Tour Adds Additional Public Tours in Restored Vintage VW Bus
Santa Cruz, CA (February 6, 2018) – Annie Wolff Pautsch, founder of Brew Cruz, announced the expansion of her Santa Cruz-based brewery tour with the addition of a second bus. “Slowboy,” a newly restored 1964 VW Bus, will enable even more beer lovers to enjoy the region’s thriving brewery scene through additional public tours on the weekend.
“I can’t wait to bring Slowboy into the Brew Cruz rotation,” said Wolff Pautsch. “Because my flagship bus “Betty Jane” was consistently booked with larger private parties, I was having to turn away smaller groups. I’m both humbled and thrilled that the local community has embraced my business these past three years, and that Brew Cruz can now accommodate more people and provide more opportunities for beer tasting and supporting the local brewing community that I love.”
Nicknamed Slowboy by the former bus owner’s 8-year-old son (an endearing reference to the bus’s relaxed nature), the bus was purchased by Wolff Pautsch in nearby Campbell after searching for the perfect vehicle to compliment Betty Jane, Brew Cruz’s trademark restored 1989 Thomas 
International School Bus. Last summer, Wolff Pautsch restored the VW bus with hardwood floors, custom seating and interior and a brand-new paint job, taking care to keep the same retro chic look and feel of her first bus. “I wanted to add some Brew Cruz flair while also maintaining the integrity of this classic bus,” said Wolff Pautsch. “I kept the name and customized license plates because I thought it was important to keep the bus’s original character alive.”
Featuring Brew Cruz’s signature hunter green hue on its exterior, Slowboy will fit right into the laid-back aesthetic and vibe of Santa Cruz, just south of Highway 1’s “Slow Coast” stretch. From a business standpoint, Slowboy’s timing is right – as Santa Cruz continues to grow as a premier craft beer destination, the demand is high for unique beer tasting experiences.
