Spring Art Market Returns Saturday, May 10, 10AM–5PM
SANTA CRUZ, CA – April 22nd, 2025 – This Mother’s Day weekend, give the gift of creativity – and meet the makers behind it. The Spring Art Market at the Tannery Arts Center returns on Saturday, May 10 from 10am to 5pm, inviting the community to enjoy a day full of art, music, food, and connection.
Explore the vibrant Tannery Arts Center campus and discover the work of more than 40 local artists and makers offering one-of-a-kind treasures—from hand-thrown ceramics to fine jewelry, original art prints, sweet treats, fresh flower bouquets, and more. Whether you’re searching for the perfect Mother’s Day gift or looking to connect with the Santa Cruz creative scene, this free and family-friendly event has something for everyone.
Highlights include:

Live music by newly formed Afro-Latin band La Otra Banda from 11am–1pm and local favorite Cement Ship with special guests from 2-4pm

Courtyard DJ sets from resident Tannery artist Jason Joseph Santiago LaCour

Interactive art experiences like kids’ collage-making with Karuna Gutowski, printmaking with the Printmakers at the Tannery, and artist demos throughout the day

Open artist studios including SALT the Store, River Studio, Gallery 125 and many more

Special theatrical performance shorts presented by the Colligan Theater
Featured guest artists include Ercilia Medeiros, whose vibrant paintings celebrate local flora and fauna, Beth Truso with her handcrafted silver and gemstone jewelry, and Sophia Galarosa, a new studio artist offering locally farmed flower bouquets in handcrafted vessels.
The Spring Art Market is proudly produced by Arts Council Santa Cruz County as part of its ongoing mission to connect artists with opportunities and the community with accessible, enriching creative experiences. Now in its 16th year, the Tannery Arts Center continues to grow as a dynamic home for working artists, galleries, performances, and public art.
“This event is more than a market—it’s a celebration of creativity and community,” says Bree Karpavage, Tannery Arts Center and Open Studios Program Manager, “It’s a space where artists share their passion, families make memories, and people discover the power of local art.”
Admission and parking are free. All Tannery parking lots will be open and available throughout the day.
