Seacliff State Beach suffered extensive storm damage and thanks to the hard work of amazing people, the park partially re-opened to pedestrians on January 21. While the lower parking lot, picnic areas, and campground were closed, the temporary home for the Scrumptious fish and chips food truck had been the upper parking lot. California State Parks re-opened the park’s full suite of day-use amenities and access just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
“The re-opening is such fantastic news for Aptos, we loved our original location near the old Snack Shack building and are thrilled to be back there serving customers right by the sand at Seacliff”. says Helen Korinth, 
co-owner of Scrumptious Fish and Chips.
Since October 2022, guests have loved being able to enjoy award winning food served within the state park. When the storms closed the park, Scrumptious set up a temporary picnic area in the upper parking lot of Seacliff but are now thrilled to be back in their original location.
Like most Aptos residents, Scrumptious owners Tim and Helen Korinth enjoy walking with their family along the beach path at Seacliff State Beach. “We have loved serving in Seacliff, it has become a lovely hub for locals and tourists to enjoy great food and fantastic views,” says Tim Korinth, co-owner.
Locally Crafted, Britain Inspired
Tim and Helen originally hail from a small village in Great Britain. While many things have changed over their years in the US, their craving for authentic, fresh British fish and chips hasn’t. They launched their award-winning food truck just over three years ago to satisfy their longing and bring a bit of Britain to Santa Cruz County. Since then, Scrumptious Fish and Chips has served at local breweries and farmers markets. The Cement Ship location has proved to be extremely popular, Tim and Helen are thrilled to be at Seacliff State Park.
Scrumptious is known for its authentic scratch-made British-style fish & chips. The Scrumptious menu also includes beer-battered shrimp and British bangers.
