The Tim Brauch Foundation will be hosting its Skateboard Bowl Contest on October 1st and 2nd at the Mike Fox / Ken Wormhoudt Skateboard Park in Santa Cruz. This contest is a life celebration of skateboarder Tim Brauch who passed away in 1999.
This World Cup event brings some of the greatest skateboard legends of all time, with sponsorships from local companies like MERGE4, NUBO Brewery, and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. While past Tim Brauch bowl skateboard contests have been held in San Jose, this year we are fortunate enough to host the event in Santa Cruz, making this an incredibly special year for the Tim Brauch Foundation and our community.
The Tim Brauch Annual Skateboard Bowl Contest reflects the entirety of the organization’s mission: to bring the community together by providing them with fun and exciting events, to give opportunity and mentorship to young people, and to honor the life and legacy of Tim Brauch.
In addition to a beer garden provided by Nubo, we will have food trucks from SNB food truck, Taco’s El Chuy food truck, and Aunt Lali’s ice cream truck available throughout the event. We are very excited to have entertainment provided by Steve Caballero’s Urethane. There will also be dancers from Pacific Arts Complex. The Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz and Santa Cruz High Drumline will be performing. Tim’s friend, Scotty Greathouse and Taylor Reinhold, both artists of Made Fresh Crew will talk about their involvement with the Tim Brauch Foundation. Nubo Brewery will be hosting an after-party on Saturday, October 1st at 6:00pm at their 41st Avenue location as a fundraiser. Nubo will also be releasing a Tim Brauch beer for the weekend called Super Nova.
We are excited to bring the Tim Brauch Foundation skateboard bowl contest to our local Santa Cruz. We hope everyone can join us for this special World Cup Skateboard event alongside some of the most renowned, hall of fame skateboarders and share this memorable moment of creating a new tradition for the Santa Cruz community.
