On July 7, from 5-6 p.m. Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s Head of Dramaturgy and Professor Emeritus of English Literature at UC Santa Cruz, Michael Warren, will give a lively and enlightening talk about the plays presented for Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s 2022 Summer Festival which runs July 10 through August 28. The event takes place at the Santa Cruz Public Library Downtown Branch, or attendees may participate via Zoom.
Warren will introduce attendees to Twelfth Night and The Tempest, which he regards as two of Shakespeare’s greatest achievements, as well as provide a refresher course for those familiar with the works. Warren will discuss the distinctive qualities of each play and their place in Shakespeare’s career.
An opportunity for questions will follow the presentation.
