Photojournalist Shmuel Thaler woke up at 2 AM on Sunday morning, August 16 to flashes of light in his bedroom. Minutes later he was down on West Cliff with his camera and tripod and he shot the image that captured the terrible beauty of the moment–the storm that sparked the CZU Lightning Complex fire. With thanks to Shmuel Thaler, Bay Photo, and volunteer Carol Fuller, Community Foundation Santa Cruz County are excited to announce that they have 11 x 14 photos signed by Shmuel available to the first 100 donors who give $250 or more to the Fire Response Fund. https://www.santacruzfirerelief.org
